Sunburst Spool
Reusable spool for FDM printer filament
This redesigned spool builds on Bambulab’s innovative concept of using reusable spools. Instead of conventional single use spools that are discarded after one cycle this solution allows multiple uses. It makes the system more environmentally friendly and cost efficient for 3D printing applications.
After analyzing the original Bambu spools I decided to adapt the design to significantly reduce print time while adding new functional features. Instead of the traditional holes I introduced a more efficient sunray pattern that greatly improves production speed.
The development process went through several iterations and tests to ensure the spool maintains the same usability while offering added benefits. By applying modern manufacturing techniques I was able to increase the efficiency of the design while preserving the core characteristics of the original spools.
The result is a spool that retains its proven reusability while offering significantly improved print speed. This makes it ideal for users looking for a more efficient 3D printing experience without compromising functionality.
