3D printable assembly kit
This desk is a concept designed around 3D printing, where many printed connectors join wooden beams into a stable table that can be assembled and taken apart again easily.
At its center sits a core element that takes five beams. Further parts connect the tabletop to the legs and the legs to each other, and I designed every piece to print with as few overhangs as possible.
Since the printed parts hold the whole table together, stability was one of the main questions. The wooden beams give the structure its strength, and the connectors were designed to carry the weight of the table.
The desk only exists as a concept so far and hasn’t been built yet. Balancing printability, function and stability in one piece of furniture was a really exciting challenge.
